How turf delivery works
We plan deliveries as rounds across the county. Check your postcode to see if we deliver to you, then the order form shows the price and the days on offer.
Do you deliver to me?
We'll open our order form with your postcode filled in and show you the delivery price.
We deliver to NE22, NE23, NE24, NE62, NE63, NE64, NE20, NE41, NE42, NE43, NE45. Collection is open to everyone.
Where your rolls are left
We deliver to your property or the closest suitable and accessible point. We'll always leave your turf in the most convenient place we reasonably can, where it's possible and safe. On occasion we may not be able to leave it exactly where you'd prefer.
Rolls are left at the property. They aren't carried through houses or garages, along side paths or into back gardens, so plan how you'll move them: a wheelbarrow and a second pair of hands make light work of it.
Access notes worth adding
There's a box for these on the order form. A sentence or two saves a lot of guesswork on a rural round.
- Gate codes, or gates that are kept shut for livestock
- Cattle grids, fords or narrow bridges on the way in
- Long, unmade or shared tracks
- Soft verges or grass that won't take a vehicle's weight
- Where it's safe to pull in on a narrow lane
- Parking limits or permit bays on town streets
On the day
-
Step 1
We confirm your day
We only show delivery dates on days we fully expect to be able to deliver your order, and we'll deliver on the day you choose wherever possible. Your chosen day is a requested day rather than a 100% guarantee, as vehicle delays, unexpected traffic and weather conditions can all occasionally get in the way. As standard, we'll call or message you to confirm your expected delivery day, and let you know if it ever needs to be a different day.
-
Step 2
Ready for you
We'll message your mobile and email when your turf is ready for delivery or collection, and again once it's been delivered or collected, although the message may not arrive at the exact moment it's left.
-
Step 3
Count your rolls
Count them and give them a quick look over as soon as they've been left, before you start laying.
-
Step 4
Lay them the same day
Turf is perishable. If you can't finish, unroll the rest grass side up somewhere shady and water it.
Outside our delivery area
If the checker doesn't recognise your postcode, please get in touch and tell us where you are. You're also welcome to collect your turf from near Newcastle Airport; collection is free.
Questions people ask
Do I need to be in when the turf arrives?
No. We'll message your mobile and email when your turf is ready for delivery or collection, and again once it's been delivered or collected, although the message may not arrive at the exact moment it's left. Count your rolls once they've been left and before you start laying.
How much is delivery?
It depends on your postcode. Enter it on the order form and the delivery price is added before you pay.
Do you deliver outside Northumberland?
Yes. Beyond the county, our wider area covers Newcastle and the Tyneside coast towns, such as Whitley Bay, Cullercoats, Tynemouth, North Shields and South Shields. Type your postcode at checkout for the delivery price.
Can the driver bring it round the back?
No. Rolls are left at the property or the closest suitable and accessible point, and aren't carried into back gardens. Add notes about the best place to leave them and we'll do what we reasonably can.
Can you get up a farm track?
Often, but it depends on the track. Describe it in your access notes when you order. If the vehicle can't safely reach the house, the rolls go to the closest suitable point.
