Getting the plot ready
Building sites leave compacted ground, buried rubble and subsoil on top. Clear the debris, break up the ground, and bring in topsoil where it's thin before you think about turf.
Grade the levels away from the house so water drains off rather than towards the walls.
Site notes worth adding
- Whether the site entrance is gated or locked
- Where skips, materials or plant are parked
- A firm area where the rolls can be left
- If the address isn't on maps yet, a nearby landmark
