What's under the builder's turf
New-build gardens often have thin topsoil over compacted clay and the odd bit of rubble. Lift the old turf, dig or rotavate, pick out debris and add topsoil if needed before laying.

Should I lay over the existing builder's turf?
No, lift it first. Turf laid over old grass doesn't root properly.
Do I need to be in when the turf arrives?
No. We'll message your mobile and email when your turf is ready for delivery or collection, and again once it's been delivered or collected, although the message may not arrive at the exact moment it's left. Count your rolls once they've been left and before you start laying.
